Lea is dedicating her class Tuesday 12th December 6pm to children affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza. Take this opportunity to contribute to UNICEF and support their efforts on the ground in Gaza.

For every yogi that attends in-person or online, Luna Yoga will donate 5$ to UNICEF.

Do you have any leggings that need a new home? Join Danielle on October 21st for an inspirational 90 minute yoga class and drop off your unwanted yoga leggings that will be donated to Chez Doris, Montreal’s women’s shelter.

Founded in 1977, Chez Doris is a charitable organization that offers a range of services and programs to meet the most basic and immediate needs of vulnerable women and homeless women. We are the only women’s shelter in Montréal offering 24/7 service. By providing personal hygiene products, health and mental services, housing placement, and more, we strive to meet their needs in an inclusive and non-judgmental environment.

With the cold weather around the corner, on this day, we’ll also be taking donations for:

  • Hooded sweatshirts, tops and t-shirts

  • Coats

  • Windbreakers and snowpants

  • Hats, scarves, gloves and mitts

  • Boots

Yoga for a Cause: Wildfires in Quebec

Yoga for a Cause: Wildfires in Quebec with Danielle

In early June, a storm hit with lightning causing over a hundred wildfires across the province, impacting our beloved northern region of the province. As of Monday morning, there were still 88 active forest fires in the province. The environmental impact affects the biodiversity of Quebec's forests, with prolonged exposure to wildfire smoke impacting the air we breathe.

Please join us, on the eve of St Jean Baptiste, for a special Yoga for a Cause, guided by the lovely Danielle Farra.

Luna Yoga will donate $5 per yogi who attends this class to Quebec Red Cross.
The Red Cross is providing local authorities and First Nation communities with relief supplies and sending Red Cross volunteers and staff in targeted areas.

With all the suffering going on in the world right now, from the global pandemic to racial injustice, we are more than ever in need of some healing and peace. Recent studies have shown that depression and anxiety symptoms have increased tremendously during this time. Let’s practice yoga together to re-establish a sense of calm and ease, and remind ourselves that we are all connected. In this class we’ll explore the ways in which yoga can support your well-being through this challenging time. Your presence and participation will also be a wonderful way to give back and support mental health research; for every yogi who attends, $5 will go to the Douglas Foundation, an organization that endeavours to support mental health in the Montreal community since 1972.

The Douglas Foundation

The Douglas Foundation was created in 1972 at the Douglas Institute in Verdun. Back then, there was a lot of stigmatization associated with mental health problems. For over 45 years the Foundation’s mission has been to support the Institute’s development; from patient care to mental health research and educating professionals as well as the public in order to de-stigmatize mental illnesses.

Yoga for the Black Lives Matter Movement

Yoga for the Black Lives Matter Movement
Sunday, June 7th, 9:30 - 10:30am

In light of recent events, Francesca felt compelled to dedicate this Sunday’s class to contributing to the Black Lives Matter Movement. $5 per yogi who attends her class will go to the local Montreal organization Hoodstock. Hoodstock is currently looking for financing to help in Montreal North, a borough extremely affected by COVID-19. 
If you are also feeling like you would like to contribute in some way but you don’t quite know how, we encourage you to check out her blog post: “A first step” and join her class.

Hoodstock’s mission:
Generate spaces of dialogue and mobilizing initiatives to eliminate systemic inequalities and develop united, inclusive, safe and dynamic communities.
