Philosophy, Chanting and Sanskrit with Bram Levinson & Frances Vicente

The yoga scriptures are so vast that it can sometimes be daunting to delve into them on your own. This weekend will not only be about learning about various yoga texts, but also participating in discussion about how the teachings can be applied to our daily life, practice and classes. For those interested in learning to read yoga texts in their original script, as well as proper pronunciation of mantras for chanting in class, there will also be a portion of the weekend dedicated to Sanskrit.

Schedule:

Friday
7:30-9:00: Sanskrit alphabet and pronunciation review

Saturday
1:00-3:00pm: Sanskrit and sutras
3:00-3:30pm: Break
3:30-5:30pm: Vedas and Upanishads
5:30-7:00pm: iRest practice incorporating elements of Vedas and Upanishads, discussion after meditation

Sunday
1:00-3:00pm: Sanskrit and sutras
3:00-3:30pm: Break
3:30-5:00pm: Puranas (Mythology as scripture)
5:00-6:00pm: Works of Poet-Saints
6:00-7:00pm: iRest practice integrating the essence of all Hindu scripture (awareness/consciousness)

$395 + tax ($325 + tax by July 12th)
