ADVANCED TEACHER TRAINING
Our 5 month, 150-hour advanced teacher training is made for yoga teachers who have already completed a minimum 200-hour teacher training, who are looking to delve even deeper into the practice and teachings, grow their knowledge of philosophy and scripture and sharpen their overall skills as a yoga teacher and practitioner.

The training is comprised of 5 intensive weekends:
Fridays 7:30 - 9:00 pm
Saturdays 1:00 - 7:00 pm
Sundays 1:00 - 7:00 pm
The advanced teacher training also includes one-on-one mentoring with a senior teacher, where students will receive invaluable feedback on their teaching (10 hours) and assists (10 hours). Take advantage of this opportunity to practice closely with experienced teachers and re-infuse your practice and teaching with knowledge, inspiration and creativity.
2019 program details
May 17 - 19, 2019: Advanced Anatomy
Review of basic anatomy, investigation into biomechanics, neurology in relation to movement, the different types of muscle contraction and how they apply to postures both static and in transition.
June 7 - 9, 2019: Advanced Postures and Assists
Challenge yourself to deepen your practice and fine-tune your assists. We will look at ways to build towards more advanced postures and how to assist students as they grow in their practice as well.
July 19 - 21, 2019: Philosophy, Chanting and Sanskrit
The yoga scriptures are so vast that it can sometimes be daunting to delve into them on your own. This weekend will not only be about learning about various yoga texts, but also participating in discussion about how the teachings can be applied to our daily life, practice and classes. For those interested in learning to read yoga texts in their original script, as well as proper pronunciation of mantras for chanting in class, there will also be a portion of the weekend dedicated to Sanskrit.
August 16 - 18, 2019: Sequencing and Teaching
Find your voice and discover your own teaching style, rooted in a strong foundation of intelligent sequencing. Build your self-confidence in infusing your own personality into your classes and creativity and fun into your class sequences.
September 20 - 22, 2019: Mindfulness, Creativity & Business of Yoga
Learn how to incorporate mindfulness practices such as seated meditation, walking meditation, body scan, and self-awareness into your life and work. Study and practice tools to deepen your creativity on and off the yoga mat. Explore various yoga career paths and business basics.
* Attendance mandatory 2 classes per week.
* Requirements: minimum 200-hour teacher training and a letter of intention by the first day of training.

Jennifer Maagendans is a yoga teacher, entrepreneur, and environmentalist. She is the director and founder of Luna Yoga in Old Montreal. Practicing yoga since 1996, Jennifer has a background in gymnastics, is a certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher, and holds a degree in Environmental Studies from Concordia University. Her teaching emphasizes inner peace and happiness, as well as a strong connection to the earth. In addition to her teaching, she has led yoga retreats in Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica. In 2008, Jennifer released her first instructional DVD, Yoga Flo for Peace and followed it up in 2010 with Yoga Flo for the Earth.
Bram Levinson is an author (www.theexaminedlifebook.com, www.ayearinthelight.com), yoga & meditation teacher, blogger and mentor. Based in Montreal, he offers alternative approaches to physical, mental and emotional well-being, promoting healing and spiritual understanding of who we are, why we are here and what this life journey is really all about through group and private classes as well as mentoring sessions, workshops and yoga vacations. He has been on the faculties of multiple conferences, festivals and teacher trainings, and travels throughout the year to bring his teachings to students and teachers around the world.
Frances Vicente is the manager and a teacher at Luna Yoga. With a background in hip hop dance and competitive sport aerobics, Frances first began practicing yoga in 2006 when she started working for lululemon athletica. This became her new passion and way of life. To her, dance is very much an outward expression, whereas yoga offers an opportunity for self-reflection. In 2011, Frances completed her 300-hour Jivamukti Teacher Training with Sharon Gannon and David Life in New York. In January 2013, she became a certified Advanced Jivamukti Teacher and in May 2015 she had the honour and privilege of mentoring the Jivamukti Teacher Training. She draws from experiences and relationships in all areas of her life to bring creativity, compassion, joy and laughter to her classes and teachings.
Natasha Nina has been practicing yoga since the age of 17 and teaching since 2014. She completed her 250-hour Yoga Flo teacher training in Montreal in 2011 at Luna Yoga, and her 300-hour Jivamukti yoga teacher training in Costa Rica with founder of Jivamukti Yoga, David Life in the summer of 2016. She recently finished a 40-hour Anatomy and Sequencing teacher training in Montreal with Moksha Yoga. Nina lives to learn and pass on the teachings of yoga. Reconnect with your higher Self and explore the depth of your soul with Nina. Her heart is filled with gratitude for having the opportunity to share the Jivamukti yoga method around the world - getting you high on life through meditation, chanting, Self-study and movement.
Kimberly Wilson is a psychotherapist in private practice, the author of five books, and the designer of eco-fashion TranquiliT. She founded Tranquil Space in 1999—named among the top 25 yoga studios in the world by Travel + Leisure and hosts the podcast and blog Tranquility du Jour. Kimberly lives in Washington, D.C. with rescue pets and a partner. She dreams of Paris and starting a micro sanctuary for pigs and pugs.
Patricia-Saraswati Letendre has been teaching since 2010, having done more than 1000 hours of training and eighteen years of personal practice. With an extensive knowledge of the human body a passion for therapeutic practices, Patricia strives to help students develop a more holistic understanding of yoga through creative movements, breath-work, and awareness. Having studied and taught various branches of yoga (Hatha, Hatha flow, Vinyasa, Yin, Therapeutic, and Restorative), Patricia hopes to be a guide for anyone interested in exploring the powerful healing effects of yoga on overall health and wellness.

Luna Yoga is a recognized Educational Institution by Revenue Quebec and Employment & Social Development Canada. Teacher Training students will receive an official tuition fee receipt for income federal and provincial tax purposes.
No refunds will be issued on teacher training payments. Attendance is mandatory for all weekends. Missed training weekends may be credited towards future Luna Yoga teacher trainings, but solely for those weekends that cover the missed subjects and classes.
