Satsang

Friday March 22nd, 7:30-8:30pm

Join us for an enlightening evening Satsang, where the transformative power of good company will be explored, paving the way for detachment from misconceptions and unveiling inner revelations. Satsang, a sacred gathering, serves as a vital support for our spiritual journey, acting as the bedrock of a yoga practice. This event emphasizes the profound impact of surrounding oneself with positive influences and like-minded individuals on the path to spiritual growth. As we come together in this uplifting gathering, we also extend our support beyond ourselves by accepting donations for SOS Miss Doolittle, a dedicated wildlife conservation organization based in Montreal. Let's unite in the spirit of collective growth, mindfulness, and compassion for both ourselves and the world around us.

Warriors and Sages

Saturday March 23rd, 1pm to 3pm

The sanskrit name is non different from that being invoked by the sound. Virasana, Virabhadrasana, Vashistasana, Ashtavakrasana are just some of the forms we take of warriors and sages. This class will delve into some of the stories behind these forms perhaps adding a new dimension to the sound and feeling of the asanas. Getting ready to be a sweaty sage…or warrior…or both.

The Yoga of Sound

Saturday March 23rd, 4pm to 6pm

We can forget that the fastest way to happier life is through vibration. We will explore the different methods of connecting to the Nādam or the inner sound that each of us shares.

The world is made of vibration. As the world vibrates it makes a sound. That sound is within each manifestation of this beautiful earth and to hear it brings about great ease and joy. The first step is getting the noise of our mind to quiet down. We will explore practices to tune into this sound from Yoga Sutra and Hatha Yoga Pradīpika. This is a nada yoga workshop meaning there will be some gentle movement but more chanting and sound exploration

Open to all levels

Jules Febre was born and raised in a section of New York City known as the Lower East Side. At the age of 13, Jules spent three months in India; two of which were spent in Mysore studying Ashtanga Yoga with Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. During that time he was invited to share satsang with Swami Nirmalananda and Shyam Das, two radical yogis that have each contributed greatly to the progression of yoga in the West. At the age of 16 Jules began working at the Jivamukti Yoga School helping to clean, and is now considered one of the leading teachers of the Jivamukti Yoga method, teaching the method world wide as well as facilitating at the very highly regarded teacher training programs.

Jules travels and teaches for a major part of each year, including Europe, Australia, Asia, and more. His classes offer a wide range and depth of understanding of Yoga Asana as well as Meditation, Chanting, and Yoga Philosophy.

Teaching yoga is Jules’ passion. He is grateful to his teachers, Sharonji (Gannon), Davidji (Life) who he has had the privilege of studying with for over 15 years, for igniting his devotion to the Jivamukti Yoga practice and for inspiring countless students around the world.

“Much of our time is spent in a virtual world of computers, phones and many other automated transactions. We are always choosing how to spend our time, which shapes our lives. The power of coming together, of sharing ideas, insights and practicing asana lends one to become more receptive. As we undertake this journey, we may do so together and thus together we come to realize the vastness of our existence.”—Jules Febre
