Mom & Baby Yoga

Levi and I have been taking Mom and Baby Yoga. The first half of the class is geared more towards mom - a soft flow incorporating baby tickles. The second half is more for baby - massaging, bicycling legs, etc.
Half the class is often breastfeeding, crying, laughing, sleeping... It's hilarious and amazing at the same time. This week I ended up doing boat pose while breastfeeding - didn't want to miss out on the ab strengtheners.
Levi's favorite part: watching mom hold plank pose and foot massage.
I highly recommend it!

Luna Yoga Teacher Training

After much thought, encouragement, and a little bit of pushing... we've finally decided to offer a Luna Yoga Teacher Training! Although I was a little reluctant at first, now that we're in the full swing of planning, I'm super excited!

At first 200 hours seemed like so much time to fill, but after having met with all the participating teachers and hearing their thoughts & proposals, it's a challenge to fit in all the amazing ideas. We've got such a good group together, and everyone is super enthusiastic about their topics. I feel super lucky to be working with such a great team, and am excited about the material we've put together.

We just posted up the training info on our web site last week and already we have 3 registrations! The response has been amazing! We've decided to cap it at 20 people max... if you're interested let us know asap.

Starts May 20th, 2011
Info & registration: http://www.centrelunayoga.com/training.htm

Veggie Eats in Montreal

Before going on a recent trip to NYC, I googled vegetarian restaurants in the area. I came across one of Moby's blog postings listing some of his favorites, and found it super helpful. I thought I'd do the same for Montreal...

Starting with my favorite Aux Vivres (amazing vegan food), Yuan (asian fusion), Pushap (yummy Indian), Bonnys (in Griffintown), Green Panther (Mile End) Chu Chai (for a nice dinner) or Chuch (for lunch), Divan Orange (venue/restaurant), Casa del Popolo (hearty sandwiches), Burritoville (Mexican), Juicy Lotus (in NDG), La Faim du Monde, Le Commensal (buffet/cafeteria style).

Some veggie friendly faves: Olive et Gourmando (awesome Viva Las Vegan sandwich), Veritas (yummy hummus & eggplant sandwich), Santropol (sandwiches, salads, pies), Chez Jose (vege paté), Clark Street Bakery (spicy aubergine sandwich), Shaika Cafe (chick pea wrap, in NDG).

Bon appetit!
P.S. Please feel free to add your favorites to the list...

First blog post...

My first blog post ever! After discovering a good book/recipe/yoga class, I'm excited to pass on the info to others, so I figured a blog was a good way to go about it... Plus we just had an amazing weekend with friend and yoga teacher Kimberly Wilson and beau Tim. Kimberly always leaves me feeling inspired, as she is one of the few people I know that accomplishes so much (studio owner/writer/designer/activist/podcaster) and yet she remains calm and happy (we even had time to get a reflexology foot massage while she was here!). So I am taking her advice and starting my first blog, with the intention to write notes, ideas and thoughts about life as a modern yogini in Montreal...
